Welcome to Bethal

Bethal 01 Bethal 02 Bethal 03

The small town of Bethal is situated on the N17 Highway between the towns of Secunda and Ermelo. This community has developed into a substantial commercial, educational and administrative centre for this area and is the midpoint from which 7 major routes emerge. Bethal generates income from both mining (coal and gold) as well as farming activities.

Bethal originated on the farm Blesbokspruit in 1880. It was named after the wives of the two owners of the land, Elizabeth du Ploy and Alida Naude. The town was proclaimed a municipality in 1921.

Where to stay in Bethal is only a click of the mouse away.
